FUTURESTARS I AND II (10U-11U-12U-13U)
2010 Futurestars ProgramsThe Futurestars programs are open to all girls ages 10U-13U (see AAU Age Chart for age group determining dates) that are interested in taking their first steps to reaching their basketball goals. This is the future of outstanding basketball athletes in Wisconsin. There are no “Cuts”. For young girls with the desire, dedication and motivation to further their "game", come join the ranks of over 3200 Viking Club and Team Wisconsin Alumni. FUTURESTARS REGISTRATION FORMS Futurestars Level I: 10U and 11U Girls AAU Age Division Chart $325 The Level I program is designed to develop both individual and team basketball skills. There is a considerable amount of time given to skills and fundamentals, while introducing young athletes into competitive AAU basketball. Teams will be formed to be equal in ability. New players and those in need of a new uniform, Uniform Fee: $50 2010 Viking Club ProgramThe Viking Club is entering our 24th year as an AAU girl’s basketball club. Since 1987 the Viking Club has provided basketball players from all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan the opportunity to develop their skills on the court against some of the best competition across the state and nation. The Viking Club programs are open to all female athletes’ 14U-15U-16/JR (see AAU Age Chart). There are no “cuts”. The Viking Club programs are a great way to prepare for your 2010-2011 high school basketball season! If you want to improve your game and play at a higher level, there is a spot on one of our teams for you. Viking Club Registration Forms VIKING CLUB: 14U-15U-16/17U Girls AAU Age Division Chart New LOW Price $495 This program is for the athlete who wants to maximize their basketball development: Strong emphasis on skill development, as well as competitive game play. Players can expect high level competition and exposure during the summer events which Division I, II, III and NAIA college coaches will attend. College coaches love the Shootout Series tournaments and actively recruit from participants each year. New players and those in need of a new uniform, Uniform Fee: $50 2010 Team Wisconsin ProgramElite Traveling teams: 13U, 14U, 15U, 16/JR (See AAU AGE CHART): "The Best in Wisconsin, playing the Best Across the Country" Team Wisconsin teams are the Viking Club's traveling teams ages 13U-14U-15U-16/JR, divisions are determined by the AAU Age Determining Dates, see Chart. These teams compete in high level tournaments throughout the Midwest and across the country through the spring and summer. Team Wisconsin has gone to many of the premier exposure events across the nation and will continue to play a very competitive state, regional and national schedule. The goal of Team Wisconsin is to bring together the best players in Wisconsin to play against the best competition in the nation. These teams are selected through a tryout process. The Team Wisconsin schedule will vary from team to team. There may be multiple teams in each age group. Each team will compete in nationally recognized high level tournaments April - July. Teams in the 14U-15U-16/JR will play in several NCAA certified events during the NCAA evaluation periods. NCAA Certified tournaments give athletes maximum exposure to all levels of college programs throughout the country. Some tournaments may include: AAU National Championships, USJN events, Adidas Midwest Classic, North Tartan Meltdown, MN AAU Summer Jam and Shootout Series Events. Players in the 14U-15U-16U/JR teams will have player profiles provided to college coaches throughout the country. Some “Recruiting services” charge up to $1000 for the same service. This is part of the Team Wisconsin program, not an additional “recruiting service”. Program and tournament fees for each team will be determined by the schedule of each individual team. Fees tend to range $550 - $650* for the 13U teams and $875 - $975* for the 14U -15U-16U/JR teams. There is also an uniform fee for new players, or returnees in need of a new uniform. Payment plans and fundraising opportunities are available. The initial non-refundable deposit of $275 is due upon acceptance to team, paid by 4/10/10. *final fees will be adjusted according to final schedule and tournaments attending The Viking Club/Team Wisconsin "Tradition of Excellence" is highly respected by college coaches who actively recruit from Viking Club and Team Wisconsin's talented and dedicated athletes each year. Athletes, who wish to try out for a Team Wisconsin team, you may participate in one of the two tryout dates. The tryout fee is $50. Athletes will receive 2 tryout t-shirts. Athletes need only attend 1 tryout date. If you are NOT able to attend either date AND wish to play on a Team Wisconsin team, please contact vikingclub@wivikingclub.org. TRYOUTS: *check www.wivikingclub.org for Tryout Sites and Times Sunday March 28, 2009 Madison, WI area or Saturday April 3, 2009 Eau Claire, WI area Important Information For ALL PROGRAMS Team Assignments: We will make initial team assignments during tryout (Team Wisconsin) and player placement (Futurestars and Viking Club) weekends. If a player is unable to attend the Player Placement weekend for the Futurestars and Viking Club programs, we will assign them to a team. FUTURESTARS and VIKING CLUB: Please notify us in advance if you are unable to attend the April 17th Placement Date Our staff may move players to maximize the opportunity for the player and the team.
Schedule Conflicts: We recognize prior obligations will take precedence over playing. Family, church, or school commitments may arise that could prohibit a player from attending certain weekends, days, or games. However, since all entry fees, gym fees and administrative fees hinge on a full roster, we are unable to give discounts or refunds for missed events. Players must notify vikingclub@wivikingclub.org and the team coach at least 3 weeks in advance of known schedule conflicts.
Team Wisconsin: Athletes on Team Wisconsin teams must be able to commit to at least 80% of the team’s events; the July events must have a total commitment, or have approval for absences before acceptance to the team. Player invitations will be emailed out starting Monday, April 5th. Athletes must respond within 24 hours with their acceptance to the team. Once Team Wisconsin teams are established, the first practices/team meetings will take place on April 10th or 11th, 2010, location TBD. Teams will have meetings with the Team Wisconsin staff, coaches, parents and athletes. Additional practices may be set up within the individual teams.
Transportation, hotel costs, and meals are the responsibility of the athlete and their family. The Viking Club/Team Wisconsin does not provide these things.
